Product ♥: Powder by Kamiseta

If you've ever been to Kamiseta, even if you're just passing by, you've likely got a whiff of their powder scent that is present in all of their stores.

I've always been curious about that because, hey, who wouldn't want to have a house smelling like that?

So today I went over to a Kamiseta store and chatted up the sales attendant at the cash/wrap about the scent. She said that it was the owner's preference and that it was a specialized air freshener. I can't remember what company she told me it was from, but I gathered that you can't buy it from department stores and supermarkets. Too bad. (They're totally missing an opportunity here LOL!)

But I did buy myself one of their scents - Powder.

 Powder (Php 249)

From the Kamiseta website, it says that it's "a refreshing mild scent inspired by the natural freshness of fine powder." It certainly is that!

Well, if I can't have my house smelling like it, at least I do. <3

September Wish List

It's too early for a Christmas Wish List, but it's my birth month so I figured I'm due for a birthday wish list. I'm not one to ask for presents. In fact, I don't receive that many gifts now that I think about it. I tamp down my bitterness by thinking that it's always better to give than to receive. Yeah, keep thinking that Self.

But I do have my eye on the following goodies. I figured I'm due for some retail therapy and pampering, as a birthday gift for myself. I'll worry about where to get my cousins' tuition and allowance next month. Haha... (Oh shit)

Of course, my wish list has got to have this. I've been waiting for this book ever since I read about it and I'm stalking the reviews every.single.day. Unfortunately, I am not kidding. The book comes out on September 13th, which means it's 14th here on my part of the world and, as fate would have it, also my birthday. If that isn't meant to be, then I don't know what is. Eve and Roarke(!) for my birthday. Oh yeah.

What's a birthday girl without a pretty dress? Well, we were born naked but... Anyway! Pretty dresses! Sigh.

Sasha in nude and grey. Maika in tan.

I love Ichigo shoes. They're so comfortable and they're really affordable too! I'm restraining from buying shoes because my friends tell me I've got too much of them already (*rolls eyes* I know, right?) but I think my shoe rack can make room for these cuties. I already have nude flats, but since an unfortunate decision on my part to bring it to Mr. Quickie, I may have to exchange it for this one by Ichigo. Or I could settle for the grey one. Or maybe both? And the brown sandal's low heel is just perfect when I want the height but not the HEIGHT, if you know what I mean.

For months now I have been searching for the perfect brown bag. Now I think I finally found it. I was never a fan of the Longchamp bag and wondered why everyone was crazy about them, but now I appreciate the simplicity of it. It will probably go with everything I own and wear. I'm severely tempted to buy the fake, but I think I'm going to save up to buy the original. I'm still not comfortable paying thousands of pesos for a single bag so this means I won't be getting this anytime soon. Maybe Christmas? But still, maybe the universe will find a way to give this to me this September. Cross fingers!

I've posted about this before, but I haven't found a local seller... then. What do I do now that I found one? Drool and agonize about it, of course.

Oh the things I can do with this! I'll be mod podging all the way to next year!

Okay, technically not for me... but Ate Nan really wants to watch this. She hasn't said this explicitly, but she's such a fan of this year's winner Scotty that she even texted me when he won. I think she even cried. I really want to give her this, but I already spent a lot on the 2NE1 concert earlier this year and this is more expensive that that! Anyway, we'll see...

And if I don't get anything on this list (except for the J.D. Robb book which I will be getting come hell or high water), I would be perfectly happy with just a box of Goldilocks egg pie. I love my egg pie, after all. :)

Have a great September!

Product ♥: Coke "Can" Glasses from McDonald's

Blame it on advertising or consumerism or whatever, but I think I'm going to try and collect all the colors of McDonald's Coke "Can" glasses.

I've already got two so far from ordering two Big Mac meals for me and Ate Nan this afternoon. (I didn't have lunch, okay? LOL)

Coca Cola "Can" Glasses from McDonald's in Charcoal and Pink

The promo is only until July 15, 2011 so I guess I going to eat more McDo Value Meals for the next week. I don't know how I'm going to survive it. Ah, well. Only four more colors left anyway.

Product ♥: Korean Ice Cream

I don't even know what they're called. I just call them YUMMY. Haha...

It seems like there's a Korean or Japanese mart around the corner nowadays. Well, if there is one near you or you just happened to pass one by... Why don't you go in and see if they have these Korean ice creams?

Open

First bite

Second bite

Third bite

All gone (the other mochi ball followed suit shortly)

They're really, really tasty. At least for me. I don't like too much sweetness but the mix of these ice creams is just right.

 Open

 First bite

Fish, don't look at me like that! Nom nom nom...

I got mine at the Korean mart located downstairs at Rada Regency, Makati and they're selling these starting at Php 40. They've got more ice cream varieties (and also a lot of Korean goodies) there that I am excited to try out soon. I know it's cold nowadays (for our country, anyway) and it's the rainy season, but - darn it! I just can't help myself!

Product Love: Hello Kitty Sweetness Tank

Hello Kitty + Watermelon + Tank Top. What's not to love?  ♥

I think most girls went through a Hello Kitty phase. I certainly remember collecting my share of stationery and stickers when I was younger and swapping it with my friends.

It amazes me that Hello Kitty is as popular today as it was back then. Here we are, years later, and my "inaanak" (godchild) is also a fan. It's my go-to gift during her birthdays and celebrations.

But this Hello Kitty Sweetness tank from Forever21 is so sweet and so cute that I think I'll keep this one for myself. ;)

Product Love: These aren't the droids you're looking for...

... But these are some of the cutest slash awesome (okay, mostly cute!) Star Wars merchandise you can find in the planet.

Darth Vader says, "I find your lack of faith in Steve Jobs disturbing." Darth Vader Decal for MacBook by Decal360.

Valentine's may be over, but I think this card from theWallaroo is as timeless as Yoda's wisdom. Love it, I do.

Sometimes we need a little reminder from Master Yoda. "Do or do not. There is not try." bracelet from spiffingjewelry.

Another item from spiffingjewelry, these would be the perfect couple rings for Star Wars fans.

These awesome swimsuits from Black Milk Clothing make guys forget all about Princess Leia's iconic slave girl outfit... Okay, maybe not. But it comes close.

Nothing says BFF more than this Chewy and Han print by mikiep.

Darth Vader, cute and cuddly? No other way to describe it with these crocheted creations by lucyravenscar.

Have a little fun with your books (or dvds). Star Wars trash compactor bookends from Star Wars Shop. (But it's sold out, I think.)

This might not be my Star-Wars-fanatic brother's cup of tea, but I think this mash up of Hello Kitty and Star Wars by hellowars is kinda cute. Aww, lookie the little Wookie wearing a big red bowwie. I'm going to stop now.

Technically, it's not an item... But this Civil War era-inspired Darth Vader portrait is just too awesome not to mention. This was done by Greg Peltz and you can check out his other Star Wars portraits at his blog.

Happy Star Wars Day everyone! And May the Fourth be with you, always.

Product Love: Human ♥ Nature Lip Balm in Watermelon

Human ♥ Nature Lip Balm in (L-R) Watermelon, Peppermint, Mandarin, and Choco-Vanilla

There's nothing more refreshing than watermelon during summer.

Besides indulging in an occasional watermelon shake, I love using my watermelon lip balm from Human ♥ Nature. The refreshing watermelon smell aside, what I love about this product is that it slides smoothly and really prevents my lips from chapping for hours. I've used a lot of lip balms, even some of the most popular ones, but this is the best one for me so far.

Human ♥ Nature lip balms contain bee propolis and beeswax that protects and keeps our lips moisturized. They also contain calendula extracts which come from marigolds that provide sun protection. The company that produces this wonderful product also espouses that their products don't use harmful chemicals and are proudly made in the Philippines. That makes me love it even more!

Another great thing about this product is the price. It's only Php 59.75! It's so affordable that I am tempted to buy all the flavors! I bought mine at a booth in the Legaspi Sunday Market but I saw them selling at mall kiosks too. They also have an online store where you can purchase it. While you're there, you can also browse through their whole range of products - make up, lotions, and shampoos... 100% without harmful chemicals and 100% Philippine made!

I'm so impressed with their lip balm and their company philosophy that I'll be sure to check out what else they have to offer when I get the chance. I'm especially curious about their hand creams and shampoos as one of my friends has been raving about the banana-scented hand and foot salve. I'll try to get to it and post a review soon. :)

Product Love: Lace Tape

I've been using a lot of Lace Tape lately.

It's just perfect for adding that little bit of daintiness to projects. I've used it on the accordion envelope of my fabric covered notepad and also some pretty bookmarks.

Actually, I'm just plain resisting sticking them to everything.

Product Love: Floral Tin Cans from Japan Home Center (Daiso)

Polka-dots + Florals = Win

Japan Home Center is so addictive.

I can't resist popping in and browsing through all the merchandise. I usually walk out with nothing, but sometimes you find something that you suddenly realize you can't live without. And at that irresistible price of only Php 88, why not?

One of my finds is this set of floral tin cans which were at Php 88 each. Of course, I wondered why they were the same price when the other two were smaller...

As usual, I bought them without knowing what I was going to put in them, but I'm sure I can find a use for them somehow. :P
